I had a dream last night; I know what I need to do for the new moon this week. Today, I will perform a cord cutting for an old connection that keeps partially trying to return/re-connect. I am done with this connection. I want them to be happy, and I no longer want any sort of relationship with them outside of a light and easy friendship. The cord needs to be cut and each of us protected from reforming. Below is what I am going to do, I plan to record and will post more as the day progresses.
Supplies
Two candles — one for myself, one for them.
Mine — Red — self‑worth, passion reclaimed, root chakra healing
Them / The connection — Grey — neutrality, dissolving emotional charge
Cord
Red — passion, sexual connection
Black — shadow attachment, trauma bond
Herbs to dress my candle
• Rose Petals (Pink or Red) – Self‑loving, heart‑opening, and worth‑affirming. Connects you to Aphrodite’s energy of being cherished. Used to: Amplify self‑worth and call in love that sees me fully
• Damiana – Sensual, confident, and embodied. Helps to reclaim your sexual and emotional sovereignty. Used to: Restore passion and confidence within self
• Bay Leaf – Empowering, clarifying, and sovereignty‑building. Strengthens personal authority and queen‑energy boundaries. Used to: Stand firmly in my power and make decisive choices
• Mugwort – Intuitive, liminal, and dream‑aligned. Connects to Hekate’s guidance and deep inner knowing. Used to: Gain enhanced clarity, intuition, and spiritual insight during the release.
Herbs to dress their candle
• Lavender – Calming, cooling, and emotionally neutralizing. Helps soften lingering attachment and encourages peaceful separation. Used to: Assisting in a gentle release, quiet, and free of emotional charge.
• Black Salt – Protective, boundary‑setting, and banishing. Helps sever energetic ties and prevents reattachment. Used to: Strong, definitive closure and a clear energetic boundary.
• Agrimony – Reversing, untangling, and bond‑breaking. Helps dissolve unhealthy emotional loops and trauma‑bond patterns. Used to: Break the cycle of being pulled back into the connection.
• Mint (Peppermint or Spearmint) – Clearing, refreshing, and mentally unblocking. Helps stop replaying memories and clears emotional clutter. Used to: A fresh mental reset and freedom from repetitive thoughts.
• Lemon Balm – Calming, soothing, and excellent for emotional transitions. Helps you detach without anxiety. Used to: Enhances feeling steady and grounded as we let go.
To Surround the Candles
Mine – Sea Salt (Pink Himalayan and Celtic) - Protection + self‑worth + grounding.
Theirs - black salt and ancestor graveyard dirt - Boundary + banishing + closure.

Prepare Your Space
1. Gather all supplies, clear, and organize your working space.
2. Ground / Meditate
I do a meditation that grounds me into the earth, flows in my source energy, clears all connections and hooks from me, and surrounds me in a double layer energy ball filled with sparkling gold and silver
3. Call the quarters
I call the guardians of the watchtowers of the North, element of fire, the Salamanders – Light your Ritual Candle (or use your alternate fire item)
I call the guardians of the watchtowers of the East, element of Air, the Slyphs – Light your incense or wave a feather (or use your alternate air item)
I call the guardians of the watchtowers of the South, element of Earth, the Gnomes – Hold your earth element or if outside touch or pick up some of the ground
I call the guardians of the watchtowers of the West, element of Water, the Undines – Hold and bless your water item
4. Cast the circle / Merkabah
Either walk or imagine the circle going around your working area, home, or whatever space you will be working in. I would do this at least 3 times or more, until you feel the energy buzzy where you’ve put the circle.
Perform the Work
1. Call in guides, angels, and ancestors
2. Invoke the Goddesses
Hekate, Keeper of Crossroads. Persephone, Queen of the Underworld. Aphrodite, Lady of Love and Worth. Stand with me as I reclaim myself.
3. Do the Ritual
a. Preparing their candle
Use your candle cutting tool and carve their name or a sigil representing them into the candle
Place herbs for their candle into the mortar and pestle, drip a few drops of oil on their candle and rub downward (to move the energy away from you) to distribute
Sprinkle herbs onto the candle over a plate, light the bottom of the candle to get it a little melty and stick to the left side of the spell plate
Wipe down the mortar and pestle to clean

Wipe down the mortar and pestle again to clean

b. Tie the cord around the candles, crossing in the middle
c. Light their candle
d. Light your candle
Say:
As these candles burn, the connection is severed in all timelines where it is needed. This connection is complete. Its lessons are learned. The cord of secrecy, longing, and shadow attachment is dissolved. I walk forward in authenticity, sovereignty, and love.
4. Build Energy
Say:
Hekate, Keeper of Crossroads, You who stand where endings become beginnings, Walk beside me as I sever what no longer serves. Lead me toward the path of being fully seen.
Persephone, Queen of Shadow and Bloom, You who rise from darkness crowned in your own power, Stand with me as I reclaim the parts of myself I abandoned. Let this release be my rebirth.
Aphrodite, She Who Chooses Herself First, You who teach the sacredness of being desired openly, Wrap me in your radiance. Let my heart remember its worth, And let my future continue to be filled with love that is loud, proud, and true.
Three Queens, Witness this cutting. Witness this rising. Witness this return to myself.
I release the shadow and trauma‑bond. I release everything that kept me small. I step forward seen. I step forward sovereign. So it is. So it becomes. So I rise.
5. Direct the energy
Hekate, guide me through the crossroads. Persephone, walk me from shadow into rebirth. Aphrodite, crown me with worth and visibility. I am a chosen one. I am seen by those meant to see. I am free
b. And So it is, so mote it be
Closing
